Writer in residence: Lesley Gibbes
Lesley Gibbes is an award winning, internationally published children's author, teacher and presenter at the Australian Writers’ Centre.
She is the author of more than fourteen books for children. Her books include CBCA Honour Book Scary Night, CBCA Shortlisted Book Searching For Cicadas, Whitley Award Winner Fluke, A Boat Of Stars (poetry anthology) and the hilarious chapter book series Fizz.
Lesley’s writing has received acknowledgement from The Children’s Book Council of Australia, The Royal Zoological Society of NSW, The Wilderness Society, Speech Pathology Australia, International School Libraries Network Singapore and The American Booksellers Association.
She is a sought-after, dynamic presenter ideal for school author presentations, storytelling, writing workshops, festivals, professional development and parent forums.
Lesley grew up in Sydney’s Northern Beaches and Wagga Wagga in country NSW. She spends her days reading, writing and mucking about with her family and two naughty Jack Russell terriers.
