The Big Issue has just released its 12th annual fiction edition. The issue contains 12 stories from authors such as John Marsden, Miles Allinson, Gregory Day, Tegan Bennett Daylight, and Jennifer Down, just to name a few.
This edition of The Big Issue isn’t just good for your fiction-loving brain. When you buy a copy, $3.50 goes direct to homeless and disadvantaged men and women.
Illustrated by Eirian Chapman, the issue is 16 pages longer than usual thanks to a grant from the Copyright Agency Cultural Fund.
Over 350 writers submitted their work for consideration. Two of the stories in this edition, from Gregory Day and Tegan Bennett Daylight, have been selected to appear in 2016’s Best Australian Stories.
The Big Issue editor Amy Hetherington says:
“Every year our readers, vendors and the wider community look forward to the release of this special edition, which showcases short stories from both established authors and promising new talent from around Australia. This year’s edition promises 12 great reads: belly laughs, meditations, mysteries and stories that will get you in the heart.”
To get your hands on a copy, find a The Big Issue vendor in your city before 8 September 2016.
