Ahhh, what could be more Australian than a silhouette of a windmill and bouncing kangaroos against a backdrop of orange sky and red earth? Ahem, well after intense discussions with Australia Post, we realised it would be too difficult to package all that up, so we’ve gone with two new books from a very Australian genre – rural fiction.

Rural literature has exploded as a genre in the past decade, with many talented authors having thrown their ‘akubra’ into the ring. Fleur McDonald (a.k.a. “The Voice of the Outback”) and Karly Lane are two such popular talents – each with a new book out in recent months.
